ooh, i forgot to say this before. {statements in brackets} are my very own side comments and the dialogues i've included are mere approximations of what were shown in actual dubbed footages. i don't have the resources to record the show so i'm just relying on what my memory can serve me. and i absolutely can't quote everything verbatim. ^,^ hehe. ohtay? ohtay.

^ marcos, calixto, altagracia ^

We see Marcos on a hospital bed as a worried Calixto looked on. Marcos' condition wasn't stable yet but he was not giving up the fight. Calixto revealed to a distraught Simon that it was the MDJ who did this and more. The call for medical help also came from Marcos' own phone. Simon asked if the call was from a woman but Calixto said that he doesn't have the info at hand yet but he'll tend to that also. They also had the MDJ's mask and in a short while, he'll be sending that to Caracas for analysis so that the MDJ's identity could finally be revealed.

Altagracia, also in full surgical attire like that of Simon's and Calixto's, came into view. When Calixto asked her what she was doing there, she retorted that she was there for Marcos. Calixto then proceeded to drive her away. Simon intervened and requested for Calixto to leave them so that he and Altagracia could privately converse. Altagracia inquired about Marcos' condition and was informed that he's in terrible shape. In response to Simon's question, Altagracia stated that she got wind of what happened to Marcos through Yvonne, who heard about the misfortune while at a store. Simon confided that Marcos never had the chance to be happy. Altagracia echoed Simon's statement and added that Marcos will not die. Simon further shared that if Marcos dies, then he'll be the only one left in the family, that the MDJ was finishing 'em off..
... S: Altagracia, huwag mo sanang mamasamain, pero ikaw ba yung tumawag sa hospital gamit ang telepono ni Marcos?
... A: Wala akong nalalaman sa iyong sinasabi.
And then Calixto reappeared, throwing accusatory statements at Altagracia once again, reminding Altagracia that she spoke with Marcos yesterday and that she & Juaca had a fight with Marcos. Altagracia was incensed at what Calixto is insinuating - that she and Juaca were involved in what happened to Marcos.
... A: Hindi ako ang babae ni hudas. Hindi ako pumapatay ng tao.
Simon came between the two again. He told Altagracia that Marcos believes in her despite everything that has happened and that he'll do the same. He just hopes that he won't be mistaken in doing this. Simon urged Calixto to come with him so that Altagracia could have a moment to be with Marcos. Calixto acquiesced, but not without giving Altagracia a look that reeked of distrust.

^ the wedding, etc. ^

Alirio was the one who gave Elma away, instructing Salomon to take good care of the woman (while he snidely whispered, "kahit naunahan na kita.." to Salomon). During the proceedings, a clearly distracted Salomon was thinking of Gloria. When it was his turn to affirm his wedding vow, an infuriated Gloria showed up, momentarily disrupting the ceremony. Up in Gloria's room, Juaca was debating with herself if she's gonna read the letter or not. Just then, the household help burst through the door and quickly related to Juaca the commotion that was happening downstairs - that Gloria, donned in a wedding gown, was at the very center of it all. Downstairs, Gloria was in a roll. Even Cordelia had a mouthful to say about lying & cheating bastards. As the room was full of guests, Juaca was watching the entire scene from the stairs. Gloria was treading along discussions of bigamy and wedding rings (like the one she had on her finger) and was on the verge of revealing her marriage to Salomon to the entire crowd when Alirio stepped up and tried to sway her against it. In the end, the only obvious damage Gloria was able to make is to a small wedding cake. As she was rushing up the stairs, the ceremony went on as planned as the wedding vows were finally sealed.

* Gloria's room (Juaca, Gloria, Petunia, Cordelia, Micaela)
Juaca wanted to know the reason for Gloria's behavior. In tears, Gloria was saying that Salomon promised her marriage also. To which Juaca reacted: "..at nagbabalak kang magpakasal kay Salomon ng hindi sinasabi sakin?! Me nangyayari ba ditong hindi ko alam?" Having remembered that her mom is not privy to her wedding plans with Salomon, Gloria countered by saying that she's just hurting so much because the man he loves is downstairs marrying someone else. She wants to get back at them for doing that to her. Juaca then softened and told Gloria that she understands what she's feeling. She doesn't want what's happening either coz she knows Gloria will be hurt. Juaca pulls her daughter in to comfort her.

(without Juaca this time)
The girls were discussing what a wedding dress means to a woman. Gloria hypothesizes that perhaps the MDJ was also set to marry someone else, got jilted, and perhaps that's the reason why it kills people wearing a wedding gown. She now also understands what her tia Altagracia must have felt, since her aunt was also left by its intended one.

^ ricarda & rebecca ^

Rebecca had a proposition for Ricarda: she'll bring over Leoncio to Carora provided that Ricarda let Cordelia come with her to Caracas. Ricarda obviously brightened at the prospect of seeing Leoncio again but was livid when she heard about the other end of the deal. She absolutely won't let Cordelia be with Rebecca! Rebecca pleaded with Ricarda to let her have the chance to be with Cordelia, even if it's just for a very short while. She promised that she won't reveal the secret to Cordelia.

^ salomon & elma ^

Elma was trying to seduce Salomon but he refused to have any part in it. He once again reminded Elma that it was Gloria that he loved and that the only reason he agreed to the marriage was to get his hands on the document. Since he held his end of the bargain, Salomon is now demanding that the document be given to him. But it looked like Elma has other plans, and what she had in mind wasn't exactly the business arrangement Salomon had pegged this marriage to be.

JULY 30, wednesday

^ cordelia, rebecca, ricarda ^

Rebecca was convincing Cordelia that it was not the right time for her to leave her mom. The girl was pleading with Rebecca to take her to Caracas. Ricarda was very adamant in not letting her daughter go with Rebecca though. We see a very "clingy" Ricarda throughout this scene.

^ juaca & altagracia ^

..cont of yesterday's cliffhanger.. Juaca was gonna head home to prepare for the next day which is the worst day, accdng to her for it will be Salomon & Elma's wedding. Asked if she's attending the wedding, Altagracia expressed her disinterest (nde naman daw niya kaibigan yun). And besides, she wants to talk to Marcos to find out who that witness really is. Juaca warned Altagracia though, to bring down the tone of her voice, so that she'll be able to get the information she wants. After Juaca has left and Altagracia headed to her room, Yvonne sauntered to the receiving area. It appears that she was listening in on the conversation for she was lamenting on the fate of the two -- that their situation was getting worse and that something had to be done about Marcos.

^ calixto, marcos, MDJs ^

Marcos was having a discussion with Calixto over a few rounds of beer. He revealed that he's really confused about the whole thing. The case was important to him, but so is Altagracia. The journalist further confided that he can't understand why Altagracia is seemingly covering for Juaca. Blackmail, perhaps? Calixto surmised that perhaps the two were involved in something which is why they're "protecting" each other.

Some time later, an obviously intoxicated Marcos stumbled into the room and was looking for Calixto. He then began clearing the bottles and decided to finish off the remaining bottle.. ("para sayo 'to Altagracia.. nalalaman mo ba na ika'y mahal ko? totoo 'yan, ika'y mahal na mahal ko...") The camera than focused on someone else who was in the room, someone who's in a blood-spattered wedding gown - who accidentally bumped on something. Marcos turned around to find himself facing the "mujer de judas." Marcos gave off a weak smile. "Mabuti narito ka... Altagracia, ikaw ba yan?" The MDJ mutely shook her head in response. Marcos, then continued to speak to the MDJ, assuming that it was indeed Altagracia. As he was inching his way towards the veiled MDJ, he was professing his love for Altagracia -- that he wanted to help her (if only she would say something) and that they could both go away together and start anew someplace else... Completely transfixed on the immobile MDJ, Marcos was oblivious of another MDJ who emerged from the door behind him. As Marcos wrestled to take off the mask of MDJ1's face, MDJ2 shot him from behind.

* in Altagracia's household...
Berenice, post-slumber, was looking for Altagracia all over the house. She was saying that Juan Vicente appeared to her in her dream and that he told her where the money was hidden. Unable to find her daughter, she yells for Yvonne. Upon hearing no response from anyone, she then concluded that Altagracia and Yvonne were together. Anxious over being left her alone in the house, Berenice wonders where the two could have gone off in the middle of the night.
*

With blood oozing down the carpet, we see Marcos slumped on the floor with MDJ1's mask clutched in his hand. Even as he was profusely bleeding, Marcos was straining to discern the identity of MDJ2, the one who shot him. Trying to stare past MDJ2's veil, his vision got more blurry by the second.. as he eventually lost consiousness.

^ other characters ^

Gloria's plan to "ruin" the wedding was under way. Together with Cordelia, the three girls have already changed into their "costumes" - (bridal gowns, in this case) with Micaela's ensemble being the most scandalous, erm, daring, of em all.

The house was already filling up, with social butterflies and press people alike.

Juaca found out about the letter on top of Gloria's bed. Intercepted it, naturally. She quickly hid it behind her back as Salomon barged inside the room, thinking that Gloria has arrived already. An indignant Juaca shooed Salomon away. Now sure that the letter addressed to Gloria is indeed from Salomon, (.."patawad anak, alam kong hindi ko dapat ginagawa 'to...") Juaca proceeds to open the letter.

JULY 29, tuesday

~~
ohtay.. so I was rather "type-happy" with yesterday's episode. hehe. didn't realize that the recap got more detailed than what I originally set out to write. and since I think I won't be able to sustain that, I'll be keeping 'em short and sweet (but still as comprehensive as I could). unless a really good scene comes along. =)

alrighty. now on with today's recap..
~~

^ berenice, marcos, altagracia, juaca ^

Berenice's conversation with Marcos took a turn for the worse. With a statement like, "Tama ka.. kung nakulong si Altagracia, eh di dapat lang na nakulong din silang lahat." {or something to that effect}, she might as well serve Altagracia's culpability on a silver platter... {Come on, momma, dig a deeper grave for your daughter, why don't ya?!} Having realized her blunder, Berenice suddenly said that she's feeling confused and that she wasn't really conscious of whatever it was that she was saying. Marcos refused to be discouraged by this. He wanted to know what really happened during the night of January 3. Where was Altagracia during the time that she was missing? Why did she have to hide if she were truly innocent? And even though the woman was making less sense by the minute, Marcos continued to press the issue. He was asking Berenice if that night his brother died was the same night when (amidst the confusion), the "infamous" money was hidden. And then...

Altagracia and Juaca stormed into the house. Altagracia was furious at Marcos for his show of audacity -- for pestering her mom and taking advantage of the situation. Marcos tried to explain that it wasn't what it looked like, that it was actually Berenice who wanted to speak with him, but Altagracia wasn't really up for any explanation from him. She quickly told Yvonne to attend to her mom's medication and for Juaca to take care of her mom so that she could have a talk with their "visitor."
Altagracia asked Marcos what he found out from Berenice. He replied that it was just about the pact that was made that same night, things that Altagracia already revealed to him in a previous conversation. Juaca enters the living room and told him that he can leave now, since he won't be getting any information from anyone anymore. Marcos reiterated that if they didn't wanna talk, then he'll find out the truth from a witness - a boy who was supposedly at the church during that night. A more heated argument ensued. Altagracia was dubious of the existence of the said witness. Marcos said that it was Carmen Rosaura who found out about it while reviewing a police file that made mention of a terrified 8 yr old kid who was found within the vicinity of the crime scene. The boy's all grown-up now and he's living right there in Carora.

Juaca then tells Marcos that although she wants to help him, it's really hard coz he doesn't know Altagracia like she does. Once Altagracia has made up her mind, there's really no convincing her otherwise.

^ cordelia, ismael, pancho ^

In a rage over Cordelia's revelation, Pancho lunged at the unsuspecting Ismael. {catfight. catfight. hehe.} After the fight was refereed by Cordelia and Gabriel, Cordelia dropped another bomb: that Ismael is now her boyfriend.

^ alirio, elma, salomon ^

Salomon was writing a letter for Gloria. He intends to tell her the truth about everything and his reasons for marrying Elma. In other parts of the house, wedding decours were being set up in preparation for the wedding. Alirio and Elma were giddy with delight over the success of their plan. As they were about to, uhm.. "get closer," Salomon strode into the hall. With a dark look, he told the couple that he knows that they are the ones behind all this. Salomon entered Gloria's room and left the letter on top of her bed, saying to an absent Gloria that he loves her.

^ gloria, petunia, micaela ^

Gloria was kept occupied with updating her friends about the recent misfortunes of her trip with Salomon. They couldn't believe that Salomon was capable of doing that to Gloria either. Even becoming more consumed with her pain and anger, Gloria vowed to get back at Elma and Salomon. Their next move is to go back home and throw a party of their own to ruin the wedding festivities.

^ juaca & altagracia ^

The two were trying to figure out the identity of the mysterious witness. Juaca strongly suspects that it was Alirio. Juaca recalled that at that time, Chichita wanted to up and leave her family in favor of Julian Morrera, and that she was dead set against it (for the sake of Chichita's child). Chichita was scared coz her kid would follow her around wherever she went. Was it possible that the kid escaped from Ludovico and followed his mom to the church that night? Could it be that the 8 yr-old kid in question was actually Alirio?

^ cordelia, ricarda, rebecca ^
[Ricardo uncovers the truth about Leoncio]

Cordelia plans on leaving Carora, but Ricarda wants to meet with Rebecca and she's not gonna let Cordelia leave without speaking with the woman. Cordelia phoned Ismael and found out that Chichita freaked when she saw Rebecca. Cordelia told her mom that it looks like Ricarda won't be having the chance to meet with Rebecca that day. I don't know what happened but the next thing i knew, Ismael and Rebecca arrived at their doorstep. Both Ricarda and Rebecca got the shock of their lives when they saw each other. After regaining their composure, Ricarda was more civil towards Rebecca and said to Cordelia she has met Rebecca once before. Rebecca and Ricarda made some excuse so that Cordelia & Ismael would give them their privacy to have a chat (in the guise of good will among old acquaintances). As soon as Cordelia left the house, Ricarda dropped the pretense of friendship and demanded that Rebecca explain the reason for her being in Carora.

Rebecca pleaded her innocence - that it was just plain coincidence. She went to Carora to visit "Teresa" (Chichita's alter-ego) and it so happened that Cordelia was there with Ismael at that time. Ricarda would have none of it and was firm in her belief that Rebecca was trying to throw her off with that bit about "Teresa/Chichita." The argument escalated until the issue of being a good mother came up. *something like..
... reb: you're such a good mom that cordelia's saying that you're the reason why her dreams are now ruined and her life's such a mess
... ric: yeah, and where were you all these years? asan ka nung siya'y nagka-tigdas? and2 ka ba when she uttered her very first words? andito ka ba nung iniwan kami ni leoncio?

Rebecca was surprised to find out that Leoncio left them. Ricarda told her that that was 20 yrs ago and the responsibility of raising Cordelia was hers and hers alone. Rebecca told her na hindi niya akalaing iniwan sila ni Leoncio kasi she sees him pa. Leoncio frequently drops by the center.
... ric: sabi ko na nga bang buhay pa si leoncio.. siya yung tumatawag nang madalas sa telepono pero hindi naman na siya nagsasalita kapag kinakausap ko na siya. nakikilala ko pa rin ang boses niya.

The next scene showed Ricarda holding a knife to Rebecca's neck, insisting that she call Leoncio. Rebecca swears that she doesn't have Leoncio's number. It's in her address book back in Caracas. Ricarda struggles to calm down. She told Rebecca that she suspects her visit has something to do with Cordelia - that Leoncio sent Rebecca to Carora coz he wants Cordelia back. Rebecca confirmed her suspicion.

Rene, Gabriel and Pancho were hanging out and have been drinking.. This was the scene na dinatnan ni Cordelia & Ismael. Cordelia announced to the group that she wants to have a word with Pancho. Privately. Rene and Gabriel left. Ismael was about to follow suit when Cordelia stopped him. She wanted Ismael to be by her side, to which Pancho strongly objected. Anyhow, Cordelia told Pancho that she's gonna leave Carora and that she doesn't want Pancho to know her destination. She further added that she also did what Pancho was wont to do: she spent the whole night with Ismael {sabay kapit sa bisig ni ismael}. We cut to the strickened face of pancho.

^ alirio, gloria, salomon, juaca ^
[Gloria finds out about Salomon & Elma's wedding plans]

Gloria hears from her mom about Salomon's upcoming marital plans with Elma. Juaca told her that Salomon was looking for her. "Why," Gloria muttered, "so that they could invite me to the wedding?!" Crushed by the news, Gloria turns to Alirio's all too willing arms for comfort. Alirio tells her that he already knew about that and that's why he was there - to tell her what's gonna happen. That it was Salomon & Elma's plan all along. That Salomon is the "mujer de judas" and that Elma is the accomplice. Salomon allegedly murdered Sagrario so that the inheritance will be passed on to Gloria and Marina was consequently taken out of the picture as she might be a kahati to the blasted mana. Salomon then lured her out there, used her body, and then set out to dispose of her. It's more convenient for Salomon to get rid off her there since she's a foreigner to the place and nobody will recognize her remains after the deed is done. Salomon's getting all that's rightfully hers: company, house, winery, inheritance. Gloria laments on why Alirio didn't tell her all these stuff before. Alirio countered by saying that he did try to tell her, only that she wouldn't listen to him.

Back at the house, Salomon was making arrangements with his lawyer in preparation for his wedding with Elma. Juaca entered the room and tells him that (since she doesn't keep secrets from her daughter) Gloria already knows about his wedding. Then a clearly frustrated Salomon asked her the reason for not letting him speak with Gloria. He further inquires about Gloria's whereabouts.
Juaca: Ilang beses ko bang sasabihin sa yo na nasa beach siya kasama ng mga kaibigan niya?!
Juaca, with obvious distate, tells Salomon that maybe he and Gloria were planning to meet up and Gloria stood him up, so he retaliated by marrying Elma - *J: Sabagay, mabuti na rin yun..* Juaca warned Salomon that he better stay away from her daughter. When Salomon was out of the door, Juaca wonders on what really happened - that maybe it was Salomon who stood up Gloria. Juaca suspects that Gloria is keeping something from her and she tells herself that she will find out, eventually.

As Alirio and Gloria were leaving the hotel, Gloria spotted the guy who was involved in her "wedding" with Salomon (the captain yata or something). Gloria was asking him where his uniform was, but the guy, who was speaking with someone on his mobile, simply brushed her off and told her that he knows nothing about what she's talking about. When Alirio asked Gloria about it, she just told her that she thought the guy was someone she knows and that she was mistaken.

^ berenice, marcos, yvonne ^
[Berenice reveals a secret to Marcos]

Marcos was speaking with Altagracia's mom and she was apparently going to confide in him a secret. A flusterred Yvonne was trying to dissuade Berenice from talking to Marcos (saying that Altagracia might come home any time soon and that sigurado raw na magagalit si Altagracia) but the widow of Juan Vicente was unmoved and demanded that Yvonne prepare them some coffee instead. Berenice, though acting a little loony (baka raw nagtatago lang si Juan Vicente at marinig siya), told Marcos that there were six women who met up that night Padre Sebastian was killed. She remembers that Sebastian was a good-looking one, such a waste that he went into priesthood. Hindi raw si Altagracia yung pumatay. {at nag-reminisce pa ang lola..} Altagracia, her princess, has always been fiesty girl and a bit of a rebel and Berenice deduced that maybe Altagracia took up with the impoverished Julian Morrera to defy them. It wasn't just Altagracia who was keen on him. Everyone wanted Morrera and it became a contest for them. Even Chichita, who was already married then, left her kid at home to meet with the other girls that night. Marina was there, but according to her, she kicked Marina out of the house coz that woman was bad. At this point, Yvonne comes back with the coffee and again, resumed her futile attempts to stop Berenice from revealing too much and at the same time to request that Marcos leave the house before Altagracia catches him there. All of which, of course, fell on deaf ears. When Marcos asked what the bet was all about, Berenice said that she didn't know, only that the women had a sacred pact, and none of 'em will ever talk about it as long as they lived. But the journalist wasn't put down by this. Marcos then tried another tack. He reasoned that if there were other people there that night, then how come Altagracia was the only one who went to prison? The tongue-tied doña was unable to react. We cut the camera to Yvonne, who made a dash towards the telephone.
